Over recent years, demand for C5 petroleum resins in China has risen by an average of 15%/y. Chinese consumption of C5 petroleum resins should grow from 110,000 tonnes in 2004 to 250,000 tonnes in 2011. Applications for the resins include adhesives,traffic paints,coatings, inks, paper sizing agents and rubber anchoring agents.Chinese capacity for C5 petroleum resins reached 170,000 tonne/y in 2009, although world production totalled about 70,000 tonnes.The feedstocks of C5 petroleum resin is C5 fraction from cracker.Chinese ethylene capacity is expected to rise to 18.44 M tonne/y in 2010, enabling C5 resources to reach 2.18 M tonne/y.So we think the Chinese C5 petroleum resin production capacity will grow rapdily in future years.
