The total capacity of C5 petroleum resins in the world is around 500 000 t/a and the capacity in the United States and Japan accounts respectively for around 57% and 20% of the total. There are a dozen major producers in the United States including Exxon, Goodyear, Picco and Eastman. The capacity in Exxon is the biggest, reaching 150 000 t/a. Major producers in Japan include Zeon, Mitsui Petrochemical, Nippon Petrochemical and Tonex.
